Death of Azov unit’s deputy commander Bukariov in Olenivka confirmed - soldier's sister
The deputy commander of a separate special forces detachment of the Azov National Guard, a resident of Cherkasy, Dmytro Bukariov (call sign Bilotur), was killed during a Russian terrorist attack in Olenivka on the night of July 28-29, 2022
The death of the soldier was officially confirmed by his sister Lada Lisova, who wrote about it on Facebook.
"Since last year, we have been hoping that Dmytro was alive, but no miracle happened," the soldier's sister said.
According to Lada Lisova, Dmytro Bukariov joined the war as a volunteer in 2014.
"He gave 8 years of his life to defend Ukraine and raised many young Azov soldiers. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he held the defense of Mariupol with dignity. Thanks to heroes like him, Ukraine gained precious time while the guys were holding the southern border," Lisova adds.
"My brother was an extremely courageous, balanced person with a deep knowledge of the world and a constant desire for self-improvement. For us, the family, this is an indescribable grief, we have lost a piece of light," Lada Lisova summarized.
Dmytro is survived by his mother, two daughters, sister and nephew.
In April 2023, Lada Lisova told the Cherkasy news portal 18000 that their family, along with the families of the other victims of Olenivka, was awaiting the results of an "extensive DNA examination."
