Czech Defense Ministry denies information on providing Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine
The Czech Ministry of Defense has denied that it intends to transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, which it received from Germany as compensation for the supply of Soviet T-72s to Kyiv

This is stated on the website of the Czech Ministry of Defense.
"Foreign media reported that "the Czech Republic and Slovakia are allegedly ready to give up Leopard 2 tanks in favor of Ukraine." This information is not true. No one has asked or offered the Czech Republic to provide the tanks, which, according to a preliminary agreement, it will receive from Germany as compensation for helping Ukraine," the ministry said.
The ministry's press service added that such theses were not discussed at the Ramstein meeting, where the issues of military support for Ukraine by the allies were discussed.
- On January 20, the German newspaper FAZ reported that the Czech Republic and Slovakia were to receive Leopard 2 tanks from Germany, but at the meeting in Ramstein, they could have offered to deliver the equipment to Ukraine instead.
