Ukraine’s intelligence: Russia builds up Crimea defense to prevent loss
The occupying Russian army continues to strengthen its positions in temporarily occupied Crimea, fearing the loss of the annexed peninsula
This was stated by Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, in a comment to Krym.Realii.
In response to the threat of losing the peninsula, Russian forces are increasing the number of military units and personnel. According to Chernyak, Russia’s main goal is to ensure the security and defense of Crimea.
"They are very afraid of losing Crimea. In addition to trying by all possible means, they are also trying to hold on to the Kherson region. Their main goal is to retain Crimea, to make Crimea safe for them, and to make it impossible for anyone to capture this territory. That’s why they will saturate it as much as possible with troops and military equipment," said the intelligence representative.
On April 25, drones attacked temporarily occupied Crimea. A strike hit the house of Murad Saidov, the deputy head of the Chechen Republic. The UAV crash caused damage to the house itself and nearby cars.
“This is another example of incompetent work of the Russian air defense system. But this is a good reminder for the occupiers and their henchmen that it is time for them to flee from Ukrainian Crimea,” Atesh partisan movement emphasized.
