This was reported by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.

"After the occupation of Crimea, Russia, illegally using its legislation for political purposes, launched massive repressions against Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists on the peninsula. Detentions and arrests of people have become a regular practice,” the article says.

At the same time, the Resource Center emphasizes that the number of people imprisoned in Crimea in politically motivated cases is growing every year.

According to its data, the number of political prisoners and persecuted people during the occupation of the peninsula has reached 331, 54 of whom have been released, including 34 representatives of the Crimean Tatar people.

  • On March 31, Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia and in the temporarily occupied Crimea are systematically denied the necessary medical care.
