Components produced by Ukraine's allies found in Shahed UAVs – top security official
Iranian-made Shahed ‘kamikaze’ drones contain spare parts made in Ukraine’s partner countries. The National Security and Defense Council will investigate this issue
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, shared the information on the United News telethon.
Regarding the question about countries aiding Russia in bypassing sanctions and supporting the production of missiles and drones, Danilov highlighted the importance of understanding how Russia, despite being under sanctions, manages to access spare parts manufactured by Ukraine's allies.
"We disassembled them (downed Shahed drones - ed.) and, unfortunately, found parts that are not produced in Iran or Russia," he said.
He added that this is not an isolated incident and reassured that measures are already being taken to address the situation.
The top security official suggested that the acquisition of spare parts could have occurred prior to the onset of the full-scale invasion, noting that many of the drones in question were manufactured between 2019 and 2021.
"However, there are certain processes ongoing that we still monitor and have reported at a meeting of the Supreme Commander's Staff," he added.

China's Special Representative for Eurasia Li Hui said that he saw Ukraine and Russia's readiness for negotiations, but that the risk of escalation was still high. In response, Danilov said that the door to dialogue had been closed.
