Ukrainians in Paris march to support Ukraine's NATO accession
People took to the streets in Paris, urging France and the general public to support Ukraine's accession to NATO
Ukrinform reported the information.
Demonstrators carried posters urging NATO to quickly invite Ukraine to join, thereby sending a clear message to Putin that the Russian Empire will not be restored.
Organized by the Ukrainian World Congress, the event drew about 150 participants, including a Paris city council member, according to Ukrinform's correspondent.
"The main idea is that it is not only in Ukraine's interest for NATO to help defend us, but it is also in NATO's interest to invite the strongest and most capable army in Europe, which is already guarding Europe, to join its ranks," said Volodymyr Kohutiak, vice-president of the Association of Ukrainians in France.
According to the marchers, Ukraine should take significant steps towards NATO membership following the Washington summit.
- NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that support for Ukraine will be the most pressing issue at the NATO summit in Washington.
