This is reported on IMI website.

Evaluation covers criteria of transparency, responsibility, adherence to journalistic standards, and clear labeling of advertising materials.

In the second half of 2024, the following Ukrainian media outlets were added to the List of Transparent and Responsible Media, known as the White List: Suspilne, Radio Liberty, Ukrainska Pravda, Babel, Hromadske, Texty, ZN.ua, Espreso, Slovo i Dilo, Hromadske Radio, NV, and Hrytia.

These are the results of a two-stage in-depth monitoring of online media conducted by the Institute of Mass Information (IMI) every six months.

The research methodology is available here.

At the first stage of the study, 50 popular Ukrainian online media outlets, selected on the basis of IMI's previous monitoring data, as well as SimilarWeb and Gemius, were assessed for manipulation, fake news, and black PR.

At the second stage of the study, the media that passed the first stage were analyzed according to the following criteria: standards of balance, reliability and separation of facts from comments, presence of hidden ads, sexism and hate speech, harmful content, as well as transparency - availability of contacts on the website, editorial policies, transparency of media ownership.

According to the results of the analysis, the level of compliance with professional standards on the resources included in the White List is about 96% on average. No hidden ads were found in the central news feed on these sites (although there were materials with improper labeling), hate speech, sexism, or fakes.

The Institute of Mass Information (IMI) is a media NGO that has been operating since 1996. IMI defends the rights of journalists, analyzes the media sphere and covers media-related events, counteracts propaganda and disinformation, and provides media with protective equipment for business trips to the war zone during the Russian-Ukrainian war since 2014.

IMI is the sole organization monitoring freedom of speech in Ukraine and maintaining a list of high-quality, responsible online media. It also documents Russia's media crimes committed during the war against Ukraine. IMI has representatives in 20 regions of Ukraine and a network of hubs called Media Base for uninterrupted support of journalists. Among IMI's partners are Reporters Without Borders and Freedom House, and the organization is a member of the International Freedom of Expression (IFEX) network.
