As a result of the hostile actions of the Russian invaders, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was completely cut off. Due to the fighting, it is currently impossible to restore the electricity supply.

As reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

"As a result of hostile actions of the Russian invaders, the Chornobyl nuclear power plant was completely de-energized. Fighting continues, which currently makes repairs and restoration of energy supply impossible. The city of Slavutych is also without electricity", the statement reads.

Ukrenergo will monitor the situation and inform the public about all changes.

On March 7, it was reported that the Russian military was violating radiation safety requirements at the captured Chornobyl nuclear power plant and in the exclusion zone.

On March 9, the IAEA stopped receiving data from the Chernobyl nuclear material monitoring system.
