This was stated by Oleh Katkov, editor-in-chief of Defense Express military portal, on the air of Espreso TV.
"I think that any sale of any weapons to Russia for any country that is not a pariah will be a huge risk. The only country that still retains a fairly high share in defense contracts and projects with Russia is India. It is trying to distance itself by completing the projects it has invested in. There is no information about new agreements. At the same time, Russia cannot fulfil its own contracts," he said.
Katkov emphasized that if China decides to help Russia, it will most likely not supply weapons officially.
"If a decision is made to deliver the shells, they will look for the most roundabout ways to avoid Western sanctions. The worst, but most realistic scenario of all is the one where China can start producing ammunition for the Russian Federation, disguising its origin, and supply it, for example, through the DPRK. It seems to me that such a scenario will be detected quite quickly and everything will be done to prevent this from happening," the expert concluded.
