Chernihiv is temporarily left without gas - mayor

The mayor of Chernihiv Vladyslav Atroshenko said that the city remains without gas

He stated this during an address to the townspeople.

"Today, the city remains temporarily without gas supply. The 500th main network has been interrupted with a pressure of 3 megapascals, this is high pressure. There is a problem "at the front end" to digest this section of the network. We are making efforts to reconnect the gas, since the city is looped. We are looking for the technical possibility of introducing gas from other networks", Atroshenko said.

He said that there are a significant number of houses that are without cold water, and repair work is underway there.

The mayor also spoke about the work of the thermal power plant.

"We are in an autonomous power supply mode. The city of Chernihiv is disconnected from the all-Ukrainian networks. There are several direct hits on the main heating network with a diameter of 700 millimeters, so today every effort will be made to digest it or make a bandage so that there is no energy loss. Today, the number of connected consumers is critically large, and the frequency drops. The power supply system is designed in such a way that automatically when electricity consumption rises above the critical one, the frequency drops and individual feeders are turned off, this is a shutdown of individual micro districts of the city in order to maintain the frequency so that the system does not fall at all. Coal stocks are critically low at the warehouse, they are actually limited. Today, the CHP plant runs on gas. It’s hard for us, we are in very difficult conditions, in an operational environment, but we need to survive, we will survive, other cities and Ukraine will survive", Atroshenko said.
