Chaotic retreat of Russian forces from Kharkiv region makes Russian attack on Bakhmut impossible - military expert Kyrychevskyi
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi is convinced that there are no prerequisites for a successful Russian attack on Bakhmut today.
He expressed this opinion on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"What is needed to ensure the defense of Bakhmut is known only in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. That is, the necessary number of forces and means. However, I personally would not exaggerate the ability of the Russians to take Bakhmut. There is information that the Russians entered Kodem. However, they stormed this populated point for quite a long time and when the number of their losses becomes known, we will understand that this is not such a big success for the occupiers," Kyrychevsky explained.
The expert emphasized that the Russians today do not have a full-fledged resource to capture Bakhmut.
"If the Russians had left Kharkiv Oblast as they officially stated, the situation would have been different. That is, regrouping for the further offensive on Bakhmut for a psychological victory for their troops. In other words, if the equipment they left in Kharkiv Oblast had been thrown to the side of Bakhmut, the situation would be complicated for our troops. However, now there are no grounds for the capture of Bakhmut by Russians. Their chaotic retreat from the Kharkiv Region simply makes a successful attack on Bakhmut impossible," he added.
