Chances of passing resolution recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism are 50/50
European Parliament member Witold Waszczykowski thinks, countries are afraid of the consequences of this resolution. That is why chances it will be adoptied next week in European Parliament are 50/50.
Witold Waszczykowski, member European Parliament, informed the Society about this.
"What are the chances? I think 50/50. Because number of countries are afraid of the consequences of this resolution", he said.
According to Waszczykowski, recognition of Russian regime as a terrorist means termination of diplomatic relations with country and introduction of additional sanctions.
"But what exactly should these sanctions be? Should we impose them on State Duma (Russian Parliament) or on political parties? This question is still unanswered, so this is the problem", the politician said.
Waszczykowski emphasized that he will vote for this resolution. According to him, this will make it possible to impose restrictions on Russian oligarchs who finance Vladimir Putin regime, on politicians and parties.
