Center for Countering Disinformation publishes Russian fakes for January 18
Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of fake news that the Russian enemy produced on January 18
This is reported by Espreso.TV.
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, on January 18, Russians launched three major deceptions.
Fake: Russian media spread a video of military equipment on fire and reported that it was “the first video confirming the destruction of HIMARS.”
However, this information is not true, as the video identifies an Oshkosh FMTV M1083 armored truck.
Disinformation: Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that “the Russian defense industry annually produces as many air defense missiles as the rest of the world's manufacturers, and this inspires confidence in Russia's victory in Ukraine... Now the number of military equipment is increasing, and the needs are growing.”
Manipulation: Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called Ukraine's recognition of “new Russian territories” a condition for new negotiations: “Kyiv must either recognize or 'tacitly accept' the results of self-determination of the people of the former territories of Ukraine, 'which are now embodied in the Russian Federation's internal law - in its Constitution.”
