British intelligence suggests Russian pilot's role in Black Sea civilian vessel strike

British intelligence suggests that the strike on a civilian vessel in the Black Sea could have been a mistake by the Russian pilot due to a poor weapon employment tactics
The UK Ministry of Defense reported the information.
It noted that Russian troops probably launched a Kh-31 (AS-17 KRYPTON) missile that hit a civilian ship flying the Liberian flag, which was on its way to load iron ore.
The pilot was killed and 4 people were injured.
Intelligence suggests that Russian soldiers were aiming at a military radar, but probably confused it with a radar on a civilian vessel. If so, this indicates unsuccessful tactics of using weapons on the part of the Russian pilot.
