British intelligence confirms success of Ukrainian forces near Bakhmut

The British Ministry of Defense shared the information on Twitter. 

British analysts note that Russian mercenaries from Wagner PMC continue to advance in the center of Bakhmut. However, over the past four days, Ukrainian forces have made tactical progress and stabilized the city's flanks in their favor.

In addition to progress to the south of the city, Ukrainians have pushed the Russian front line northwest of the city. This has likely allowed Ukrainian forces to regain safer use of a key supply route, Route 0506, which connects Bakhmut and Chasiv Yar. 

"Ukraine is holding Russia’s western advances along the line of Donets-Donbas Canal, turning the waterway into an obstacle as part of a deep defensive zone around the town of Chasiv Yar," the British intelligence concluded. 

• On May 13, British intelligence reported that units of the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation had chaotically withdrawn from their positions on the southern flank of the Bakhmut direction.
