Folha reported the information.

This is how Lula da Silva responded to the invitation of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to visit Kyiv.

According to the head of the general secretariat of the Brazilian presidential administration, Marcio Macedo, Lula da Silva's special advisor on foreign policy, Celso Amorim, will go to Ukraine on his behalf.

"The president has made a decision and instructed me to inform you that the foreign policy advisor, formerly Brazil's foreign minister, who has already been to Russia, will visit Ukraine," Macedo said.

  • On April 16, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva accused Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of "not taking steps to reconcile" and said that it was necessary to create an analog of the G20 to end the war in Ukraine.

  • The Brazilian leader also stressed that the US should stop "encouraging war" in Ukraine and "start talking about peace." The White House responded by saying that in this case, Brazil was repeating Russian and Chinese propaganda, without looking at the facts. In addition, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko called on the Brazilian president to visit Ukraine and said that Kyiv was watching with interest his efforts to find a solution to end the war.
