Body of 68-year-old man shot by Russian soldier is exhumed in Kharkiv region

In Makarove, Kharkiv region, Ukrainian law enforcement officers have exhumed the body of a 68-year-old man who was shot by a Russian soldier occupying the village.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office on Telegram.

"Prosecutors of the Bohodukhiv district prosecutor's office of the Kharkiv region, together with police officers, exhumed the body of a 68-year-old man who was shot by a Russian soldier," the statement reads.

On May 5, the Russian occupier shot a local man who was walking through the village in Makarove, which was occupied at the time. It happened in front of the deceased's brother. According to preliminary information, the Russian soldier shot from an automatic weapon with a sight - first at the man's legs, and then at his back. The body of the deceased was sent for forensic examination.

A pre-trial investigation into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), is ongoing.
