Bilohorivka and Popasna reduced to rubble: regional governor on thousands of strikes, destroyed critical infrastructure and electrical substations
Serhiy Haidai, head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said that some towns in the region, in particular Bilohorivka and Popasna, ceased to exist as a result of heavy shelling
Serhii Haidai, informed about this at a media briefing.
"Territory of the Luhansk region can be conditionally divided into three parts. One was occupied in 2014. The second was occupied without heavy fighting after February 24," Haidai said.
Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration singled out another part where an active phase of hostilities took place for almost 5 months. This conditional line passes through Kreminna, Rubizhne, Zolote, Hirske, Lysychansk and Popasna settlements.
"Some settlements, such as Bilohorivka and Popasna have ceased to exist at all. As a result of constant hostilities and shelling, we had thousands of attacks of various scales, from mortars to powerful aerial bombs. All critical infrastructure there was destroyed. Water supply structure was completely destroyed, electric substations were destroyed," head of the region added.
