- Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi called on the State Department to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism on July 21.
- Earlier, a group of high-ranking US senators presented in the Upper House a draft resolution on recognition of Russia's actions in Ukraine, which it commits in an unprovoked war, as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
