Senior adviser to the US Congress, Paul Massaro, wrote about this on Twitter.

He writes that two such bills were submitted to Congress at once: from Senator Lindsey Graham and Congressman Ted Lieu.  Congressman Steve Cohen introduced a bill to recognize Russia's actions in Ukraine as genocide.

  • Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi called on the State Department to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism on July 21.
  • Earlier, a group of high-ranking US senators presented in the Upper House a draft resolution on recognition of Russia's actions in Ukraine, which it commits in an unprovoked war, as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
