Biden previously told reporters in Indonesia that missile was unlikely to have been launched from Russia. He later added that missile explosion in eastern Poland was caused by Ukrainian air defense missile. He addressed G7 and NATO partners with a corresponding statement.

NATO ambassadors called an emergency meeting to respond to the explosion near Ukrainian border, which came as Russia fired dozens of missiles at cities across Ukraine.

  • On November 16, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland officially announced attack by Russian-made missile and summoned Russian ambassador.

  • Andrzej Duda confirmed missile that fell on Polish territory was Russian-made, but authorities still do not have accurate information about who exactly launched it.

  • Later, Polish President Andrzej Duda said there are no signs that missile landing in Lublin Voivodeship was deliberate attack on the country.
