Belgium recognizes Holodomor as genocide of Ukrainians
The House of Representatives of the Belgian Parliament recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the announcement on Twitter.
"Historic vote in Belgium’s House of Representatives: one more state recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people!" the Ukrainian leader wrote.
Zelenskyy thanked Belgium for this important decision, "for this deeply symbolic step today."

On November 4, 2022, the upper house of the Irish parliament recognized the Holodomor of the Ukrainian people as genocide. On the same day, the Parliament of Moldova adopted a declaration recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
