"Today, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are starting a joint staff exercise of the Joint Command of the regional grouping of troops (forces)," the statement reads.
Thus, during the week, representatives of both countries' military departments “will work out the issues of joint planning of the troops' use based on the experience of armed conflicts in recent years."
The theme of the exercise: “Decision-making regarding the use of a regional grouping of troops (forces) in the interests of ensuring the military security of the Union State."
The Belarusian Ministry of Defense says that the complex "is aimed at increasing the compatibility of the military administration of both states" and "is the next stage of preparation for the joint operational exercise Shield of the Union- 2023. Such training will take place on the territory of the Russian Federation in September 2023.
