When Russians face difficulties on battlefield, they often attack Avdiivka - military administration
Vitaliy Barabash, who leads Avdiivka's military administration, shared insights on the city's situation. He mentioned that the enemy frequently shells Avdiivka, especially when they encounter setbacks on the frontlines
Barabash made these comments during an interview on the Espreso TV channel.
"It's been very intense in the city lately, especially in the past couple of weeks. We've had serious battles in the northern part of the city, some lasting almost a whole day. This has resulted in an increase in shelling both in the city's vicinity and within the city itself," Barabash explained.
He further reported that the enemy employs artillery, launching everything they have at the city.
"We face daily air missile strikes, with six yesterday, four the day before, and sometimes up to eight. These strikes target various locations in Avdiivka, including the chemical plant and the entire community. Unfortunately, we've lost lives, with a woman tragically passing away in yesterday's airstrike. We had hoped to rescue her, but time was against us. Civilians are getting injured too, including a man born in 1975. These incidents occur daily," he revealed.
Barabash also noted that if the enemy encounters difficulties on the front, they swiftly respond by shelling the city.
"When something goes wrong for them, they start shelling the city within minutes. This often involves simultaneous attacks on both the old and central parts of the city using different weapons systems. For instance, they might use artillery or tanks in the old part while using Grads in the central area. These attacks typically last for 20 to 30 minutes, followed by a brief 7-minute pause, and the cycle repeats," he added.
- On October 3, there were reports of Ukrainian forces occupying strategically advantageous positions in the Andriivka area. Meanwhile, Russian attempts to advance in that direction were unsuccessful.
