Bakhmut infantry battles become problem for Russian troops - reconnaissance unit commander Volokhov
Mykola Volokhov, commander of the Terra reconnaissance unit of the Azov tactical group, says that it is becoming increasingly difficult for occupying Russian troops to conduct infantry fighting against the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Bakhmut
He said this on Espreso TV.
“Khromove and Klishchiivka are holding out. In some of these areas, our Defense Forces are conducting counteroffensive operations. Thus, our units are destroying the bridgehead for the enemy's offensive. As for the occupants' use of equipment, we are in full control of the situation and can see all their movements,” Volokhov said.
The commander of the Terra reconnaissance unit noted that the Russian equipment was ineffective in the battles for Bakhmut.
“The weather is starting to improve. The enemy has become better visible. Now we can see much further and more than three weeks ago. We also see their equipment and are working on it. They have not been approaching the nearer borders for a long time, as they are not effective. They tried to push through our defense with their equipment, but to no avail. That is why the fighting in Bakhmut is mostly infantry. However, even with infantry battles, the occupiers are facing problems. If earlier the Wagner mercenaries were famous for their aggressive infantry, now the 3rd Assault Brigade is showing that it can destroy them perfectly,” he added.
