This was stated by Austrian Defense Ministers Klaudia Tanner and her Hungarian counterpart Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky at a meeting in Budapest, reports Euractiv.
Politicians emphasized that both countries are not sending weapons to the conflict zone to prevent further escalation. Szalay-Bobrovniczky claimed that Hungary and Austria will be on the side of peace, providing humanitarian aid to refugees.
According to Tanner, the biggest danger she sees is that the war could spread to Europe, which would not only be a matter of conventional war, but also hybrid warfare and increased migration in general.
"The consequences are extremely felt not only in Austria, but also in Hungary. After all, the routes run through the neighboring country to us," Tanner emphasized.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban compared Ukraine to Afghanistan and called it a "no man's land" while speaking with journalists.
