Art on armor plates: exhibition of art objects is opened in Lviv

The exhibition features 12 art objects created by artists as part of the ArtBronia project

“This exhibition will not leave anyone indifferent: on the one hand, the armor that saved lives, and on the other hand - art, painting, which gives this means of protection a second life,” Roman Chmelyk, director of the Lviv Historical Museum, said.

Ukraine's Armed Forces handed over to the organizers "worn out" armor plates, which successfully fulfilled their mission in battle - stopped enemy bullets and shrapnel and saved the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. Famous artists Ivan Marchuk, Nazar Bilyk, Petro Bevza, Andrii Bludov, Yurii Vakulenko, Oleksii Sai, Svitlana Ratoshniuk, Anton Lohov, Leonid Kolodnytskyi, and icon painter Andrii Okhotskyi turned artifacts into art objects with exclusive stories.

The exhibition has already been viewed by the citizens of Kyiv. Now it's Lviv's turn. Oleksandr Kovalchuk, initiator and head of the ArtBronia project, co-founder of the Ukraine for Heroes Charity Fund, said: Nova Poshta delivery company helps  the project with transportation. The company took over the organization of logistics and covered all delivery costs. Later on, the exhibits will go to Poland and other European countries. And the organizers plan to finish the exhibition in London.

The quintessence of the exhibition will be a charity auction at which exhibits will be sold.  The organizers will transfer all proceeds to the purchase of new protective equipment for Ukrainian fighters. Anyone can see the collection of art objects every day from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm until January 17 in the Museum-Arsenal of the Lviv Historical Museum (Lviv, 5 Pidvalna St.).
