Area from Lyman to Vuhledar is constantly under fire – deputy commander of Freedom battalion
Volodymyr Nazarenko, deputy commander of the Freedom battalion of the 4th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, noted that Ukrainian soldiers are holding positions around Bakhmut
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"The enemy continues to put pressure on the Bakhmut sector. The situation is difficult to the north and south of Bakhmut. The enemy is suffering huge losses. It seems that the Russian spring offensive has already begun in the Bakhmut area. The area from Lyman to Vuhledar is constantly under heavy fire, but Ukrainian soldiers are bravely defending and holding their positions," emphasized Nazarenko.
The deputy commander of the Freedom battalion also added that the enemy is using the tactics of a fire barrage.
"The initiative is now with both sides, the fire initiative. The enemy has much more losses. They storm and storm with their infantry, put a platoon down and send the next platoon again in half an hour," emphasized Nazarenko.
