Anti-aircraft defense downs 10 Iskander missiles out of 10 — General Staff

On the night of June 1, the Russian army attacked the territory of Ukraine, once again targeting Kyiv and the region. Ukraine’s Armed Forces managed to destroy all 10 Russian missiles

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports this in the morning briefing on June 1.

During the night Russia used Iskander missiles, targeting civil and critical infrastructure in the Kyiv region. Ukraine’s Air Force successfully intercepted and destroyed all ten missiles launched by the enemy.

In the past 24 hours, 3 missile strikes and 29 air strikes were launched by Russia

The likelihood of further missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains significantly high.

On May 31, Russia launched 3 missile strikes and 29 air strikes, along with 49 MLRS attacks targeting our military positions and populated areas. There have been civilian casualties. Private residences and other critical infrastructure have suffered damage.

Russians are turning Enerhodar into a military logistics base

The General Staff has revealed that the Russian troops continue to turn the temporarily occupied city of Enerhodar in Zaporizhzhia region into a military logistics base despite repeated pleas from the IAEA and world leaders.

Thus, the occupiers use the plant of non-standard equipment and pipelines to repair military equipment. They have also repurposed a special structures factory and a building plant into warehouses for storing military equipment, weapons, and ammunition.

Ukrainian forces repel 21 Russian attacks at the frontlines, situation by directions

The enemy still attempts to completely occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Defense Forces units repelled 21 enemy attacks yesterday. 

On the northern border with Belarus, the operational situation remains stable, with no signs of offensive groups forming.

On the northeastern border with Russia, the Russian army continues to maintain a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. 

Over the past day, Russia launched an airstrike near Pletenivka in the Kharkiv region. 

It fired mortar and artillery shells at 31 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops launched unsuccessful attacks near 3 settlements over the past day. 

They launched air strikes in two areas and shelled 8 settlements in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Russian soldiers attempted one unsuccessful assault over the past day.

They launched air strikes near 2 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. They also shelled 5 settlements.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops assaulted in the direction of Bila Hora and Orikhovo-Vasylivka over the last day, unsuccessfully.

Twelve settlements in the Donetsk region suffered from Russian shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops did not attack. 

They launched air strikes near Avdiivka and artillery shelling of 9 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all the attacks near the town of Marinka. 

Russian forces launched an air strike near Marinka. At the same time, 9 settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian forces launched air strikes near 2 ares. 

They shelled 7 settlements.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops are on the defensive.

They carried out air strikes near 1 settlement in the Zaporizhzhia region. 

They shelled 25 settlements in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. 

The Armed Forces of Ukraine hit 1 control post, 1 artillery system, and 2 Russian ammunition depots

The defense forces' aviation conducted a total of 15 airstrikes on areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated. Among these targets, 2 were anti-aircraft missile systems.

Furthermore, the missile forces and artillery units effectively struck 1 control post, 1 artillery unit in a firing position, 2 ammunition depots, and 2 electronic warfare stations throughout the day.

Ukrainian defenders also managed to eliminate 5 enemy reconnaissance UAVs.

 
  • On the night of June 1, the enemy launched a rocket attack on Kyiv. Thanks to air defense forces, all enemy targets were destroyed. However, falling debris caused damage to a high-rise building, a car, and a polyclinic, resulting in the loss of three lives, including that of a child, and several injuries.
