Another explosive letter discovered in Spain: it was sent to US embassy
In Spain, a series of attacks on administrative buildings continues, this time an explosive package was sent to the US Embassy in Madrid
This is reported by Reuters.
It is noted that bomb disposal experts eliminated the fifth letter bomb, which was sent in a postal package to the US Embassy in Madrid.
El Mundo reported that on November 24, a package with explosives came to the head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez. The explosive device was sent by regular mail, the suspicious envelope was discovered during the filtering of the correspondence of the head of government.
Later, the explosives were sent to the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid and the Spanish company Instalaza, which manufactures weapons for Ukraine. On December 1st, a letter containing explosives, which are activated when opened, was delivered to the Spanish Ministry of Defense. Also, a package with explosives was sent to the air base in Torrejon de Ardos. The Civil Guard and the National Police were notified about this.
It is known that the air base in Torrejon de Ardos shares intelligence with Ukraine. In February, the European Union announced that it would mobilize a satellite center in Torrejon de Ardos to provide intelligence to Ukraine as part of the EU's military assistance to Kyiv in the face of Russian aggression.
According to State Security Secretary Rafael Perez, all of the packages contained a mixture similar to that used in fireworks, as well as a mechanism that ignited the mixture rather than exploding.
