Anakonda-23 large-scale military exercises begin in Poland

The purpose of the exercise is to practice the defense of NATO's eastern flank. In addition to the Polish military, several hundred soldiers from the United States, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Turkey are taking part in the exercise. Special attention is to be paid to allied operations in the Baltic Sea region.

The exercises will take place not only in Poland, but also in Sweden and the Baltic States. More specific information is not disclosed for security reasons. 

Last week, the Polish Armed Forces Command posted a warning on social media that streets in the northern, central and eastern parts of the country may be temporarily blocked due to the delivery of M1 Abrams tanks and other military equipment.

Drivers were warned about the possible movement of convoys on the country's roads. In addition, the military asked drivers to be especially careful if they encounter military vehicles on the road. The operational command also asked not to publish photos and information about the movement of troops on social media.

Anakonda-23 will last until May 26.
