Amid energy crisis Russian bots and mass media call on Ukrainians to turn on lights as much as possible
The Russians are spreading the provocative #LightOnZelenskyyOff flash mob in the Ukrainian segment of Twitter and Viber, which was picked up by the Russian media
This was reported by the Center for Combating Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council on the Telegram channel.
It is noted that the Russian mass media report that "Ukrainians launched a flash mob with the hashtag #LightOnZelenskyyOff against Zelenskyy's policy and call on November 1 to turn on the lights as much as possible." Provocative appeals and messages are spread in the Ukrainian segment of Twitter and in the Viber messenger.
However, as noted by the Center for Combating Disinformation, most of the accounts named "Ukrainians" are actually bots, which is confirmed by the translation of the Russian text of the messages into Ukrainian.
"Half of the country is already without electricity, we can not keep suffering these hellish torments!" translated and distributed in the version that makes absolutely no sense and sounds ridiculous in Ukrainian: "Half of the country is already without electricity, there is no more urine to endure these infernal flours!".
"We warn you! The specified flash mob is a senseless and dangerous manipulation designed to increase the load on the Ukrainian energy system for its complete failure," the Center for Combating Disinformation emphasized.
The Center for Combating Disinformation urged Ukrainians to continue saving electricity, especially during peak hours: 7:00-10:00 a.m. and 6:00-11:00 p.m.
