Allies pledge €21 billion in military aid to Ukraine — UK Defense Ministry following Ramstein meeting
Following the latest meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, held on April 11 in Brussels, UK Defense Secretary John Healey announced that international allies have pledged €21 billion in military aid to support Ukraine
According to Radio Liberty, Healey stated that this represents a record boost in military funding for Ukraine.
The meeting, hosted at NATO headquarters, was co-chaired by the British and German defense ministers. It brought together representatives from 50 countries. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who had previously chaired the group, joined the session online.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius expressed his gratitude for the strong international backing and thanked partners around the world for the announcements, pledges, and support packages.
He acknowledged that peace in Ukraine was unlikely in the near future but reaffirmed Germany’s long-term commitment, stating that they would ensure Ukraine continued to benefit from their collective military support, and that Russia had to understand Ukraine could keep fighting — and that they would continue to support it.
Germany also confirmed a substantial aid package, pledging €11 billion in military support to Ukraine through 2029— a figure previously highlighted by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
- On Friday, April 11, the 27th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format takes place in Brussels. Air defense is a priority for Ukraine at the meeting.
