Ukrainian air defense destroys Russian missile, 20 drones overnight

During the nighttime assault, Russian troops launched an Iskander-K cruise missile and a Kh-59 guided air missile from the occupied territories of Crimea and the Kherson region. Additionally, 20 Shahed attack drones were deployed from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions in the Russian Federation and Chauda in Crimea.
Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups from the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were engaged in repelling the air attack.
Consequently, 20 Shahed drones and one Kh-59 guided air missile were successfully downed, preventing the Iskander-K cruise missile from reaching its target.
The air targets were eliminated within the Odesa, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
- On the evening of Saturday, December 16, Russian troops launched Shahed drones to attack Ukraine. One of the downed drones fell into a residential area in the Odesa region, causing an explosion that led to the tragic death of a man.
