Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar made this statement.
He emphasized that Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip affect Western assistance to Ukraine. According to him, the international media has shifted the focus to the war in Gaza, so some people think that the war in Ukraine is over.
Bondar also believes that one of the factors affecting aid to Ukraine is the internal political situation in Western countries, including the upcoming US presidential election, the positions of the Hungarian and Slovak governments, and the blocking of Ukrainian trucks by Polish farmers at border crossings.
The ambassador emphasized that Kyiv is aware of the existence of different ideas of its partners on how to help Ukraine, and that is why it has begun to increase its weapons production capacity. He also noted that there is a discourse in the West that "it is cheaper to help Ukraine than to fight on its own."
