Ukraine to receive 26 more GCS demining machines from allies this year

The press service of the Defense Ministry reported the information.

Representatives of the ministry visited the production facilities of the Swiss-German company Global Clearance Solutions in Germany. The company is one of the world’s leaders in manufacturing robotic demining systems.

“The unmanned multi-purpose platform GCS-200, which partners delivered last year to one of the military units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Support Command, has several modifications. As a tracked vehicle, it is highly maneuverable and can turn in place with a minimal turning radius of approximately four meters,” the Defense Ministry stated.

The project is funded by the governments of Germany, Switzerland, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania. Additionally, funds are allocated through the United24 platform.

The use of mechanized demining machines reduces risks for sappers and speeds up the process of clearing land.

Global Clearance Solutions’ equipment is part of the units of the National Guard, the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and the State Special Transport Service. The company provides technical support for its machines.

• During the ninth meeting of the Demining Coalition in November 2024, participants discussed Ukraine’s needs for equipment and weapons and agreed on an assistance roadmap for 2025–2034.
