Trump administration revises Ukraine aid estimate down to $100 billion
The Trump administration, following negotiations in Washington last week, has revised its estimate of aid to Ukraine from $300 billion to around $100 billion
Bloomberg reported the information, citing its own sources.
After a round of talks in Washington last week, the Trump administration reduced its estimate of the assistance the U.S. has provided to Kyiv since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion from $300 billion to approximately $100 billion.
According to the publication, this brings it closer to Ukraine’s own estimate, which stands at over $90 billion.
It is noted that the Trump administration is pressuring Ukraine to agree to a deal involving the sharing of profits from future Ukrainian investment projects, particularly in the mining and infrastructure sectors.
The report highlights that Washington sees this as compensation for the tens of billions of dollars in weapons and other aid provided to the country during former President Joe Biden’s term, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
- The Pentagon has refuted President Donald Trump’s claim that the United States spent $350 billion in support of Ukraine. The actual figures are significantly lower.
