Sweden to allocate over ₴590 million to boost Ukraine’s cybersecurity
The Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) has allocated over UAH 590 million to strengthen Ukraine’s cybersecurity
Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation reported the information.
According to reports, Sweden has allocated the new aid package to Ukraine within the framework of the Tallinn Mechanism — an international initiative that coordinates assistance from 11 partner countries to strengthen cyber resilience.
The funds will be directed toward updating IT infrastructure, enhancing the protection of digital products, and training employees of key government institutions.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasized that the war continues not only on the battlefield but also in cyberspace. In 2024 alone, over 2,000 cyberattacks targeted Ukraine’s public sector and government agencies.
“Thanks to Sida’s support, we will implement projects to ensure that the digital state operates smoothly and that Ukrainians can use online services under any conditions,” the Ministry stressed.
- Sweden will also allocate around $176 million to Ukraine for humanitarian aid as compensation for the reduction in funding from the United States.
