Scholz explains why Germany does not allow Ukraine to strike Russian territory with its weapons
Germany has allowed Ukraine to use the weapons it provided within Russian territory, but only in areas bordering the Kharkiv region

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this at a press conference in Berlin on July 24, DW reports.
Scholz stressed that while Germany supports Ukraine, it aims to prevent escalating tensions between NATO and Russia.
"We are committed to supporting Ukraine as needed, but we are also careful to ensure our actions do not lead to a war between Russia and NATO," Scholz said.
- Ukrainian officials said the United States had banned Ukraine from firing over 100 kilometers into Russian territory.
- Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide has said that Norway's position on Ukraine's ability to strike at Russian territory is clear and in line with international law.
- The press service of Zelenskyy's office explained that by "strikes deep into Russia," Ukraine means the systematic destruction of key targets, such as Russian air bases and military production facilities.
