This was reported by the company’s press service.

A significant portion of these vehicles will be assembled and delivered in cooperation with VDL Defentec. The planned aid package was first announced in September, but the donor country had not been disclosed until now.

On October 6, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans joined representatives of Milrem Robotics and VDL at the official signing ceremony held at VDL’s plant in Born, the Netherlands.

Deliveries will be carried out by Milrem Robotics Netherlands in close collaboration with VDL Defentec, which is setting up a dedicated assembly line for the ground robots at its Born facility.

Milrem Robotics will also provide comprehensive training for Ukrainian operators and support staff to ensure effective deployment and maintenance in the field.

“We are honoured to lead this project in partnership with the Netherlands and VDL. The THeMIS platform has already demonstrated its value under combat conditions, and we believe this contribution will materially strengthen Ukraine’s defence capability,” said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.

What is THeMIS

The new batch will complement 15 THeMIS units already operating in Ukraine since 2022, where they have demonstrated high effectiveness on the battlefield.

THeMIS is a modular unmanned ground vehicle designed for logistics, reconnaissance, and combat support missions. The system is currently part of robotics programs or in operation in 19 countries worldwide.
