Støre emphasized that Ukraine's ability to defend itself from Russian air attacks is crucial in its defense efforts.

"Norway has decided to donate six F-16 fighters to Ukraine. We aim to start the donation process during 2024," the Norwegian Prime Minister said.

During a visit to Kyiv in 2023, Støre announced that Norway would provide F-16s to Ukraine. However, at that time, he did not specify how many fighters would be sent or when.

  • The Netherlands authorized export of F-16 to Ukraine. Ukraine will soon receive 24 Dutch F-16 fighters. The relevant permit has already been issued.
