This is reported by NRK.
“We are increasing support because there is a need for it, and it is a significant contribution to peace and stability in Europe,” said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
“This is a very, very large sum. It is necessary for the defensive struggle that Ukraine is waging,” he added.
The politician emphasized that Norway will ensure the funds are directed to their intended purposes.
According to Støre, the money will be allocated to areas that are priorities for Ukraine.
The Norwegian Prime Minister also noted that the country aims to support Kyiv amid the suspension of military aid from the United States.
- In February, Norway announced a €300 million aid package for Ukraine’s energy sector and the opening of a direct investment channel into the country’s industry.
