Prime Minister Simon Harris stated at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
‘Ireland will always support people from Ukraine. According to our data, 109 thousand Ukrainians have come to Ireland. This is approximately 2% of our population,’ Harris said.
According to him, the Irish government regularly reviews its support for asylum seekers and refugees. The prime minister also stressed that the ‘right to work, food and shelter’ for Ukrainians in Ireland remains unchanged.
- On Wednesday, September 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris signed a bilateral agreement on support for Ukraine and cooperation between the two countries.
