Finland announces 26th defense aid package to Ukraine
Finland has approved its 26th package of defense assistance for Ukraine, with President Sauli Niinistö making the decision on December 5 following a government proposal
Finland's Ministry of Defense reported the information.
The package, which includes winter equipment for Ukrainian troops, is valued at €25 million, bringing Finland's total defense aid to Ukraine to €2.3 billion. The Finnish Ministry of Defense has confirmed that planning for the next assistance package, expected early next year, is already underway.
"Finland is one of Ukraine’s strongest supporters, and we have no plans to change that," said Minister of Defense Antti Häkkänen. "This package demonstrates our continued commitment to helping Ukraine defend itself, especially during the harsh winter months."
Specific details regarding the contents, delivery method, and schedule of the aid package are being withheld for operational security reasons. Officials emphasized that the assistance was carefully designed to balance Ukraine's urgent needs with the Finnish Defense Forces' own capabilities.
