Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair said this at a meeting of the Ramstein format, the Defense Ministry's website reports.
“At today’s meeting, Minister Blair announced that Canada will make a new contribution of CAD 60 million to the UDCG Air Force Capability Coalition. This donation will support the setup of a sustainable F-16 fighter aircraft capability in Ukraine. Specifically, the funds will help source vitally needed F-16 supplies and equipment such as spare parts, weapons stations, avionics, and ammunition,” the statement says.
On May 21, US President Joe Biden approved the training of Ukrainians on F-16s. Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured that Ukraine would not use these aircraft to strike at Russian territory.
