Duda's position is quite weak, he can hardly do anything for Ukraine - Polish journalist Sierant
Polish President Andrzej Duda will not be able to deal with the Ukrainian issue
Polish expert and journalist Marek Sierant stated this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Foreign policy is led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. With all due respect to Andrzej Duda, he is stepping down from his government. He has a few months left in office, and it is unlikely that he will be able to do anything for Ukraine. Although he remains the president of Poland, he has no significant influence on the policy of the Polish government or Poland in general towards Ukraine and the situation in the world. He does not participate in election campaigns, does not create a new political force that could compete with Law and Justice, and is in conflict with the current government. We are seeing the end of his presidency. We'll see how his career develops further, but right now he is very weak," he said.
According to him, Duda's communication with Donald Trump is also not without problems. After all, Andrzej Duda's last visit to the U.S. was cancelled by Trump.
"They were supposed to meet and discuss some details, but the meeting did not take place. Andrzej Duda did not fly to the U.S., and it is not known whether they are talking on the phone. The position of the Polish president is quite weak both inside Poland and in the international arena," Sierant added.
