Canada joins Ukrainian drone coalition

Canada has joined the Ukrainian Drone Coalition to further strengthen Ukraine's combat unmanned aerial vehicle capabilities

The Canadian Ministry of Defense reported the information.

"To further develop Ukraine’s drone capabilities, Minister Blair committed to Canada joining the Ukraine Defense Contact Group’s Drone Capability Coalition, co-led by Latvia and the United Kingdom. As a member of the Capability Coalition, Canada will continue to look for ways to boost Ukraine’s drone capabilities," the statement said.

The statement noted that to date, Canada has made a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine's drone capabilities, including the transfer of more than 100 specialized cameras for drones that were manufactured in Canada.

Minister Blair also announced last month additional assistance of more than 800 drones from Waterloo-based Teledyne FLIR.
