Agriculture will be toughest topic in Ukraine's EU accession negotiations — Ukrainian FM
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba believes that during the negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU, the "most difficult" discussions will be on the issue of agriculture
He said this in an interview with Forbes.
"Discussions on agriculture will be the most difficult during the negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. The EU’s agricultural policy is still causing a lot of complaints within the Union," the minister said.
According to him, it is not only about reforming procedures, but also about reforming policies. Kuleba suggests that the EU's agricultural policy may have to be changed both under pressure from internal factors and from the prospect of Ukraine's membership.
"But I don't see any risk that the topic of agriculture will become an obstacle on Ukraine's path to EU membership. Solutions will be found," the Foreign Minister emphasized.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative, Taras Kachka, said that negotiations on agriculture had turned into aggression on the part of Poland and hints of influence during Ukraine's accession to the EU.
