AFU to receive up to 140 modern tanks from partner coalition in first batch - FM Kuleba
In the first round, Ukraine's Armed Forces will receive 120 to 140 modern Western tanks - Leopard 2, Challenger 2, M1 Abrams
Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this during an online briefing.
In particular, he noted that the January decisions on weapons demonstrate a new Euro-Atlantic consensus among partners: the stronger Ukraine is, the sooner the criminal war will be put to an end. He also noted that the formation of an international tank coalition with 12 members is a vivid embodiment of this rule.
“It is too early to name all the coalition countries and their practical contributions, as some of them have yet to make formal decisions in accordance with their internal procedures. I can only note that in the first round of contributions, Ukraine's Armed Forces will receive 120 to 140 units of modern Western tanks - Leopard 2, Challenger 2, M1 Abrams and we are counting on Leclerc,” Kuleba emphasized.
In addition, the Foreign Minister added that Ukraine continues to work on both expanding the tank coalition and increasing the contributions of the already announced participants.
