AFU repel more than 36 Russian attacks in one day, hold defense of Bakhmut and Marinka — General Staff 

During the day, the Ukrainian military repelled more than 36 enemy attacks and continue to hold the defense in Bakhmut and Marinka in Donetsk region

This is stated in the morning brief of the AFU General Staff on Facebook.

According to the General Staff, the enemy continues to attack the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka areas. Over the past day, Ukrainian forces repelled more than 36 enemy attacks there. In Bakhmut and Marinka, the most intense fighting continues, our forces are holding the defense.

Ukrainian forces launched 13 strikes on Russian positions 

The AFU Air Force has carried out 4 strikes on personnel positions. An enemy reconnaissance UAV of the Orlan-10 type was shot down, and units of missile troops and artillery hit 5 manpower positions, an ammunition depot, 2 artillery positions, and a logistics center. 

Russia carried out 5 missile strikes, 27 air strikes and 45 MLRS attacks 

Russia continues to use terror tactics. Yesterday, the enemy launched 5 missile attacks on the cities of Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka and Pavlohrad. 

They also carried out 27 airstrikes and 45 MLRS attacks, killing and injuring civilian population.

The probability of new missile and air strikes remains on the entire territory of Ukraine.

Russians continue to transfer mercenaries from prisons to Ukraine

The enemy persists in attempting to replenish their manpower losses by recruiting prisoners. Recently, it was observed that approximately 400 mercenaries, recruited by Wagner PMC, arrived at one of the occupiers' field camps in the Berdyansk district of the Zaporizhzhia region.

A similar influx is anticipated in the Luhansk region, where plans are underway to train up to 200 convicts at a nearby training facility. The training is projected to last for several weeks. The commandant's company personnel, responsible for guarding this contingent, have been instructed to open fire in response to any escape or disobedience attempts.

The occupation authorities in the Luhansk region are actively pursuing the confiscation of real estate belonging to Ukrainian citizens who have fled the temporarily occupied territories. The seized properties are intended to be transferred to law enforcement agencies.

Situation by directions

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. The enemy continues to maintain a certain number of troops in the border areas with Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian Federation keeps shelling the entire border line with mortars and fire: 5 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 5 more in the Sumy region, as well as 8 villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. They launched airstrikes on two settlements in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

In the Kupiansk direction, 8 settlements in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under artillery fire with no enemy offensive. Russians did not attack. 

In the Lyman direction, 8 localities were attacked by the occupying Russian troops. 

In the Bakhmut direction, fighting for the fortress city continues. 15 localities in the Donetsk region were subjected to numerous Russian attacks. They tried to attack in three areas. 

In the Avdiivka direction, 8 settlements of the Donetsk region came under shelling. The enemy tried to advance in two areas, unsuccessfully. 

In the Marinka direction, invading Russian troops attacked 3 settlements of the Donetsk region. Battles continue for Mariinka. 

In the Shakhtarsk (Vuhledar) direction, 4 settlements of the Donetsk region came under artillery fire. No offensive was attempted. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 15 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the Russian army. The enemy is on the defensive.
