AFU repel 43 Russian attacks in battles for Bakhmut and Marinka – General Staff

Russia launched 3 missile attacks and 31 airstrikes over the day

On April 26, Russia launched 3 missile strikes, 31 airstrikes, and about 26 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems. There were civilian casualties, and private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

AFU repelled 43 enemy attacks and shot down a Supercam reconnaissance UAV

Occupying Russian forces are attacking at the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 43 enemy assaults over the last day. The fiercest fighting continues for Bakhmut and Marinka.

Over the last day, the Defense Forces' aviation launched 11 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions. An enemy reconnaissance UAV of the Supercam type was also shot down.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling Ukrainian border areas: 5 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 7 more in the Sumy region, as well as 4 villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions:

In the Kupiansk direction, 7 settlements in the Kharkiv and Lyman directions came under artillery fire. 

In the Lyman direction, 6 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian troops. 

In the Bakhmut direction, fighting for the fortress city continues. 14 localities in the Donetsk region were subjected to numerous Russian attacks. 

In the Avdiivka direction, occupying Russian forces attacked 8 settlements of the Donetsk region. 

In the Marinka direction, Ukraine's Armed Forces repelled numerous Russian attacks. However, 5 settlements of the Donetsk region came under enemy fire. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, 5 localities in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 30 cities and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the invading Russian forces. 

• Mykola Volokhov, commander of the Terra reconnaissance unit of the Azov tactical group, said that it is becoming increasingly difficult for invading Russian forces to wage infantry fighting against the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Bakhmut.
